LEBANON, N.H., June 2 (UPI) -- A New Hampshire woman celebrated her 100th birthday with a ride on a Harley Davidson motorcycle -- an activity she has enjoyed since 1927.

I hope she got Al Gore's approval.  So necessary these days.

SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras -- In a new overture to Iran, the Obama administration has authorized U.S. embassies around the world to invite Iranian officials to Independence Day parties they host on or around July 4.  A State Department cable sent to all U.S. embassies and consulates Friday said U.S. diplomats could ask their Iranian counterparts to attend the festivities, which generally feature speeches about American values, fireworks, and, of course, hot dogs and hamburgers.

I suspect the Iranians are only interested in the fireworks...and how they're made.

From London's Telegraph:  PRINCE Harry showed his privileged childhood had made a mark by winning a balloon popping race yesterday.  Prince Harry, 24, during his first official state visit overseas, visited youngsters at Harlem Children’s Zone, in New York, which works with 8000 disadvantaged children.

Balloon popping is necesary preparation for a future king.  Like community organizing for the presidency.

(AP) A Philadelphia man asked a judge to perform a wedding ceremony while the jury in the man's criminal trial was still deliberating the verdict. Timothy Zalut, 20, was on trial on assault charges this week in Bucks County Court. When it appeared that he might have to go to jail, Zalut decided to tie the knot with his fiancee, Hayley Dykstra.

The bride's parents must be thrilled.
